ASSISTANT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPENING AND CLOSING THE RESTAURANT, ALONG WITH BEING AVAILABLE DURING BUSINESS HOURS TO ASSIST ALL OTHER EMPLOYEES AND TEND TO THE NEEDS OF OUR CUSTOMERS.
OPENING DUTIES
- PREPARE RESTAURANT FOR BUSINESS HOURS (TURN ON LIGHTS, MUSIC, TV’S, UNLOCK DOORS, ETC.)
- CONSTRUCT SERVER SECTION CHART
- COUNT AND PROVIDE BANKS FOR DINING ROOM AND BAR DRAWERS.
- ORGANIZE AND SETUP DINING TABLES FOR LARGE PARTIES AND IN-HOUSE CATERS.
- UPDATE COMPUTER SYSTEM WITH ANY MENU OR PRICE CHANGES
- COMPLETE OFFICE AND ORGANIZATIONAL TASKS
DURING BUSINESS HOURS:
- GREET AND SEAT CUSTOMERS
- EXPEDITE DINNERS
- HELP BUS AND SET TABLES
- HANDLE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS
- ASSIST SERVERS WITH CHECK ISSUES (VOIDS, COUPONS, ETC.)
- ANSWER PHONE CALLS
- CONTINUALLY STOCK BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR
- PLACE LIQUOR ORDER (ONCE PER WEEK)
- HANDLE MONETARY CASH EXCHANGES
- CONVERSE WITH CUSTOMERS FOR FEEDBACK AND TO PROVIDE A MANAGEMENT PRESENCE
- KEEP A NECESSARY AMOUNT OF LABOR. DICTATE WHO DOES WHAT, WHO STAYS/WHO GOES HOME
- COORDINATE TRANSITION FROM DINING HOURS TO ENTERTAINMENT/LATE NIGHT HOURS
- HANDLE ISSUES WITH UNCOOPERATIVE CUSTOMERS DURING LATE NIGHT HOURS
- PROVIDE A POSITIVE, CALM AND ORGANIZED MOOD THROUGHOUT THE RESTAURANT
CLOSING DUTIES:
- CASH OUT SERVERS
- MAKE DEPOSITS FOR THE DINING ROOM AND BAR
- STOCK BEER, WINE AND LIQUOR TO PAR
- COMPARE BEER INVENTORY SHEET TO BEER REPORT
- MAKE SURE ALL CUSTOMERS ARE OUT OF BUILDING
- MAKE SURE BUILDING IS CLEAN
- RUN AND CORRECT TIME REPORT
- COMPLETE AND CLOSE OPEN CHECKS
- RUN END OF NIGHT CASH OUT REPORT
- TURN OFF ALL KITCHEN EQUIPMENT
- TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS
- LOCK ALL DOORS
